It has been 3 weeks since I got back from organising an edition of Let's Talk Design in New York, such an amazing city. The evening itself was at The Wythe Hotel in Williamsburg. We sold out a day before, 70 people showed up, not bad for a first time is the United States. There was some last minute stress since one of the speakers could't make it back to the US but everything worked out in the end. I found a good replacement last minute, and I have to say finding a replacement speaker in New York is so much easier than it is in Europe.
The speakers were: Verena Michelitsch, who is currently design director at Sid Lee in New York. Verena moved to NY to work for Sagmeister. She is a good speaker with a strong portfolio. Rizon Parein, 3D artist and illustrator who lives in Antwerp, Belgium. Rizon works a lot for US based companies and agencies. Rizon is a self-taught designer who has a nice story to tell. Mario Hugo is an artist, designer, and also co-founder of Hugo & Marie, a creative agency based in New York. Mario is a very talented designer with very good communication skills, he had a great talk.
You can find more pictures on the Facebook page of Creative Network. Enjoy!
